Browse source 
Downgrade is never supported, there is no need to include details in
the documentation about the database versions.

The database version is stored in the database and can be retrieved with **select \* from version**. If the version found in the database does not match what is in the following table, it probably means the instance was installed from the development tree instead of a package and **the database may be in a state that has not been tested for upgrades**.

The database version is stored in the database and used to prevent an accidental downgrade. For instance, if a running `Forgejo v1.20` instance is downgraded to `Forgejo v1.19`, it will refuse to start because it would damage the content of the database.
